Marxist Democrats are working to move their party even further to the Left. Here is their latest standard bearer:
Jessica Cisneros is a 26-year-old immigration lawyer from Laredo, Texas who once worked for U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar [D-TX]. Now, she wants to oust him from the U.S. Congress by challenging her old boss in the Democratic primary.
If she succeeds in unseating the Cuellar in the primary and winning her Congressional seat, Ciscneros will add to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s so-called “squad.”
Like Ocasio-Cortez who won be unseating a long-sitting Democrat Congressman in New York and who she is often compared to, Cisneros is attacking her former Democrat boss as being ‘too conservative’ and aligned with President Trump.

“Jessica is committed to serving her community and fighting on behalf of justice and the disenfranchised,” Cisneros’ website states. “Her opponent, Henry Cuellar, is fighting to protect Republicans and big corporate donors.”
On Wednesday, Vermont’s socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders–who is also leading in the polls for Iowa Democratic caucuses–endorsed Cisneros in her bid to replace her old boss.
“Sanders’ endorsement came just days after the Texas AFL-CIO backed Cisneros. Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren, as well as Democratic U.S. Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts also have endorsed Cisneros,” reports Texas’ WKRG News 5 [emphasis added].
Although the Marxist publication Mother Jones notes she is reluctant to be compared to Ocasio-Cortez, she “raised $100,000 within 48 hours of her announcement and picked up more small-dollar donations than Cuellar did in his last campaign.”
Like AOC, “[s]he wants to blow up the private health insurance market, demilitarize the border, and shut down private immigration prisons,” explains Mother Jones.
She is also, according to her website:
- In favor of the so-called “PRO Act,” which allows for the unionization of workers without secret ballot elections, as well as eliminates state Right-to-Work laws (which Texas has);
- In favor of creating a “pathway to citizenship” for undocumented immigrants;
- In favor of nationalizing U.S. healthcare through Medicare For All;
- In favor of restricting the Second Amendment; and
- Cisneros is a supporter of AOC’s “Green New Deal.”
In addition getting Sanders’ endorsement this week, Cisneros was also endorsed by Blue Texas, a Marxist group of “seasoned campaign and policy pros working to promote progressive ideals” in Texas.
