After a weekend of allowing California citizens some freedom to go to beaches, Governor Gavin Newsom has ordered ALL of the state’s beaches closed.
Following massive crowds at several California beaches last weekend, on Thursday, California Governor Gavin Newsom order ALL beaches in the state to be closed.
Following receipt of the governor’s memo, police departments throughout the state began preparing to enforce the Newsom’s orders.
In Los Angeles, the LAPD posted on its Facebook page pictures of officers on horseback, as they began ensuring that citizens would not go onto the beaches.
“This is not going to end well,” tweeted California Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez. “Californians are not children you can ground when they don’t ‘behave’ the way you want.”
“This is such crap 3 months of lock down,” wrote another Facebook user. “These cops on these horses aren’t social distancing look how close they are and it looks like the cop on the end isn’t even wearing a mask. WTH is up with that?”
“King Newsom with his hands on the throats of every small business owner,” stated another Facebook user. “Disgusting.”
“How awesome for the taxpayer we get to watch Cops ride horses on the beach like we dream we could,” commented another Facenbook user.
It appears that, even in liberal California, citizens are beginning to push back against what some would define as a police state.
