Fed up with Governor Gavin Newsom’s orders to keep California’s beaches and parks closed, thousand turned out in Huntington Beach and elsewhere to protest.
Even in liberal California, people are getting fed up with being cooped up.
Following a brief moment of freedom to go to the beach last weekend, California Governor Gavin Newsom ordered all state beaches and parks closed until further notice.
This led many across Southern California—and Huntington Beach, in particular—to turn out on Friday to protest what they view is government authoritarianism.

According to the Daily Mail, between 2,500 and 3,000 people were in Huntington Beach.
“The rally was one of many held in at least 10 states across the US on Friday in anger over the extended lockdowns,” the site reported.

Liberals blast protesters
Unsurprisingly, liberals were not happy with the protesters in Huntington Beach.
The leftist publication, the Daily Beast, sought to delegitimize the protests by targeting one of the protest’s organizers.
Give them Vitamin D or give them death.
Hundreds of demonstrators swarmed Huntington Beach, south of Los Angeles, on Friday to protest California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s closure of the Golden State’s sandy shores—an anti-lockdown display organized in part by the owner of a “health and wellness center.”
California Democrat Rep. Ted Lieu blamed the Huntington Beach protesters for spreading coronavirus.
“There were over 30,000 new US cases reported yesterday & over 34,000 today. #COVID__19 is a highly contagious virus. These folks at Huntington Beach undoubtedly spread the virus even more,” Lieu wrote on Twitter.
